The difference in quality among baling wire manufacturers lies mainly in the process by which the product is annealed (or heat treated). By following specific heating and cooling procedures, we guarantee that all of our products are manufactured to meet specific, high-quality standards.
Unlike the open atmosphere heating, and rapid cooling, associated with strand or partial annealing, we FULLY anneal all of our products using controlled atmosphere, bell annealing furnaces. In addition, we follow certain heating and cooling specifications to achieve superior ductility and elongation (minimum of 25% in a 10 inch sample) while maintaining a physical strength of 65,000 to 75,000 psi. In the baling of materials with excessive memory, extra ductility is essential in order to avoid wire knot breakage.
All baling wire has a black oxide finish with a light water soluble coating for the prevention of rust.
COIL WIRE (COIL WIRE on Carrier)
Our coil wire is packaged on our tubular steel carriers with an average weight of 1,750 lbs (We arrange Carrier Returns):
- Packaged on our tubular, steel carriers.
- Carriers can be stacked two high to save space.
- Wire sizes 9 1/2, 10, 11, 12, 13 and 14 gauge.
- Slinger rings and carbide guide tubes which reduce wire drag to the baler are available.
BOX WIRE (50 LB BOX WIRE) (100 LB BOX WIRE)
REMEMBER: If it doesn't say Coastal Wire Company on the box, it is not our wire. Our name will always appear on our box:
- Each coil is individually packaged in a strong corrugated box.
- Wire feeds from outside of the coil.
- 100 lb. coils packaged 36 boxes to a pallet.
- 50 lb. coils packaged 45 boxes to a pallet.
- Pallets can be stacked three high to save space.
- Wire sizes - 9 1/2, 10, 11, and 12 gauge.
Coastal Wire Company has developed a new type of baling wire, called KleenGreen. This new wire has been engineered to incorporate the favorable characteristics of the black annealed wire (less breakage, greater elongation, and easy to tie) while providing the cleanest finish of all bale ties.
- Wire Sizes - 11, 12, 13 and 14 gauge.
- Wire Lengths - up to 20 ft.
- Bundles contain 125 or 250 wires.
- Packaged on special pallets that allow for dispensing one bundle at a time, or in Gaylord boxes.
BALE TIES (BLACK BALE TIES ) (GALVANIZED BALE TIES)
Most of our customers prefer the palletized package - less shipping damage, easier to store (pallets are stackable), and the special pallet allows for dispensing of one bundle at a time:
- Wire sizes - 11, 12, 13 and 14 gauge.
- Wire lengths - 10 to 21 ft.
- Bundles contain 125 or 250 wires.
STRAIGHT & CUT (STRAIGHT & CUT )
Major galvanizers prefer our wire. We offer Super Soft tensile so you can use the added strength without tying issues.
- Consistency - Due to our fully annealed process, there will not be any "hot spots" or brittle pieces of wire that cause tie breaks and parts lost in the kettle.
- We will cut the wire to the length needed in order to ensure waste reduction (example: using 48" rather than a pre-cut 44" could be costing you more than 10% in wire usage).
